Customizing Confirmation Emails

We’re looking to do some customization on some emails (adding some custom fields added through Advanced Custom Fields) and have different text for different types of events.

Will this require an update from EE3 to EE4? Can EE4 handle this?

Hi,

Can you provide a little more information about what you are trying to achieve? With both EE3 and EE4 each email can be customized for each event. The confirmation emails can be changed for each event along with the defaults if you want, which might be easier than doing an ACF integration. But let us know what you’re thinking.

The goal is to have a field that has some custom data for each event (items that the registrant needs to bring with them – info which is unique to the event) – which would be added through ACF (I believe that’s the recommended route for adding custom fields from what I read on here).

Then, in the registration confirmation email, we would want to display that information for the user.

Hi,

In Event Espresso 3 and 4, you can create custom emails to add that information without the need of ACF.

Sorry, I don’t see how to add custom fields to an event and have that information display in the site as well as the confirmation email.

Hi,

In Event Espresso 3, the emails are customized through the General Settings page or on a per-event basis through the event editor. ACF would not be needed to add that information.

In Event Espresso 4, the emails are through a Messaging System that uses global templates or custom templates on a per event basis. ACF would not be needed here either.
