I understand that the calendar defaults to the current month when a visitor first goes to it. However, is it possible to have it return to the month they were on after they’ve clicked on an event? For example, after clicking on a May event and being brought to the registration page, they would then return to the May calendar when you click the back button. Just wondering if there’s something in the settings that can be customized to make this happen, or if it will default to the current date when a visitor returns to the calendar.

Hi there,
While it will not automatically jump to the previously viewed month, you can set it to open a specific month. Fox example, if you want the Calendar to start with May 2016, you change the short code on the page to be:
[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR month=May year=2016]
