I know that the AffiliateWP addon currently only supports affiliate links, but would it be easy for a programmer to add the support for affiliate promotional codes? Most of my referrals come from offline locations and I’m trying to to move away from EE.

Hi bearcotraining,
It’d probably be easier to write a new plugin from scratch than try to add support for promotional codes to the AffilliateWP add-on. The AffilliateWP add-on was built to work with affiliate links only.

Hey Josh,
If I pay a programmer to write a new add-on to support promotional codes through affiliateWP, is this something I can make available for a fee to other EE users? IS there anything special I should be telling the coder?

Sure you can, it’s your code to do with what you wish.
However note that we do not currently have a ‘marketplace’ you can use to sell EE add-ons to users, so you would need to do this on your own site.
We do have a 3rd party add-ons page and you can apply to have your add-on listed here: https://eventespresso.com/third-party-addons/

Other than your reqiurements for the plugin, no, not really.
We do have some developer documentation which may help them when working with EE.
