I am trying to use the Custom Templates (add-on) but keep getting an error with any of the preset templates:
[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”recurring-dropdown”]
[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”category-accordion”]

In a widget all I see is the short code
In a page all I see is:
The custom template recurring-dropdown can not be found
The custom template category-accordion can not be found

I just purchased event expresso, and I am using version 3.1.36

Is this issue because I need a new version?
Found this in support forum:
“Requires Event Espresso 3.1.37 or higher (it can be used on earlier versions, but some functionality may be lost).”

If that is only problem, how to I download newer version?

Hi David,

Yes. You will need the latest version of Event Espresso. If you have your license key from your account entered into the General Settings, then automatic updates should work. There should be a notification in the plugin area of your dashboard. You can also install the plugin manually by downloading it from your account and installing.

I have the license key in saved in the general settings.
I still do not get the option to upgrade to 3.1.37

The latest version of Event Espresso is currently 3.1.36.1 (3.1.37 is yet to be released)

The issue you are currently seeing is not due to your Event Espresso version. The Custom Template Add-on comes with the the Events Table template which can be called using

[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW] or [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”courses-table”]

Other templates are available and come as separate plugins to be used in conjunction with the Custom Template Add-on. Your account has the Accordion & Calendar Table Templates so to use the Accordion you use this shortcode:

[EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”category-accordion”]

But also need the Accordion template plugin active (available to download through your My Account page)

Think of the Custom Template Add-on as the ‘template manager’ you need this to call your templates, the templates themselves are separate plugins.
