I am pretty sure EE4 can do this but cannot get my head around where to start!
My client runs an training event company. He runs events all around the UK! From past experience, when he displays the full location of the event, he has potential attendees arriving hoping to gatecrash the course. For several reasons this is completely unacceptable.
On his current site (which he wishes to move from as he has fallen out with the code creator, php/mySQL site) the full address is not displayed until they attendee receives the booking confirmation.
Can the full address be hidden from the front of the website in the event details but transmitted to the attendee after booking via the confirmation email. It is important that the whole process is fully automated and does not rely on further owner intervention to provide the extra details.
EE already includes the venue information in the email so you’d just need to remove the venue details from the event lists and single event output.
If you go to Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates.
In both the ‘Single Event Pages’ and ‘Event List Pages’ sections set the ‘Display Venue Details’ option to No and then save.
EE will no longer display the venue information on the front-end of the site but will still be included in the email, is that what you are looking for?
If you run into any problems or there’s anything you are unsure of just let us know.
