Custom recipient for receipt emails

Hi there,

I believe currently, our event registration and payment confirmations automatically get emailed to the primary event attendee.

We are selling tickets for professional development courses, so sometimes it is an administrative staff person or employer who is filling out the registration on behalf of other people. We’ve had a request to add a custom field to the registration form that allows one to specify the email address that the reciepts and confirmation go to. Do you know if there is a simple way for us to do this?

Yes you can add the field by going to Event Espresso > Registration form > Questions then add a new question. You’ll select Email for Question type. You’ll set this question to “Required” and assign it to a question group.

Then you go to Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message Templates and go to edit the templates for the messages that get sent to the Primary registrant, and you’ll change the value in the To: field. The new value in the To: field will be something like:
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* Name of new question]
