Hello, I have a few questions regarding custom questions in an event: – One person purchases 5 tickets, can they fill out information for each ticket purchase? – How to identify the same person from multiple events aka avoid duplicate registration? Do we need to create a login? Thank you. |
Hi there,
Questions need to go into question groups, and then question groups are assigned to events. For your example, we already have a city question within the ‘Address information’ question group so you need to enable that within the event questions (more on this shortly). Go to Event Espresso -> Registration form -> Questions. There you’ll find the default questions and you can use the button at the top to add additional questions. Then you go the Question groups tab and either edit a group, or create a new one, when you are within a question group you can select the questions to include in that group, for example – http://take.ms/jkgWv That’s the default ‘Address information’ system question group EE created, the checkboxes on the right are the questions I have selected for that group from all of the available questions. To make that group appear on the event itself, you need to select it for a set of registrants within the event editor, so once you’ve finished creating/editing your group(s), edit the event. You’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/1CBvc Select the groups you want to ask for both the ‘Primary registrant’ and any Additional registrants, which leads onto:
Yes, they can. You select the question groups you want the additional registrants to fill out in the section I added above.
On the same event? We don’t have any functions to police registrations and prevent a user from registering onto the same event multiple times but its possible with custom development. Can you provide more details on what exactly you mean with the above? Ee may have a snippet that does what you need, but different users have different expectations so you’ll need to be a little more specific. |
