Is it possible to create a custom post-registration landing page for different events? We want to be able to track traffic for various events, but currently the post-registration pages are all the same. Help? |

Hi, Usually what people do is add some dynamic tracking code to the Thank You page. So the page is the same, but the tracking code on that page can be unique to the event that was registered for. There can be only one Thank You page. |

Can you direct me on how to add dynamic tracking code to the thank you page? And will this work if I have multiple events pending all requiring different tracking codes? |

I can point you in the direction, but I should answer your second question first. If you are asking about Multi Event Registration, where there could be multiple events in the cart, then maybe this will not work. It depends though on the way you’re tracking things. So in other words, does your analytics method allow for multiple tracking codes if there are multiple events registered for in one transaction? If not, then you may need to deactivate the Multi Event Registration add-on to allow for only one event per transaction, so your tracking code on the thank you page will have the unique code for that one event. |

I wasn’t considering multi event registration – very few of our attendees take advantage of that, so I view this as a non issue. I was simply referring to the fact that we have several upcoming events, each different, and one needing to give us the ability to track the source of the registration. So back to my question: how do I add a piece of tracking code to the thank you page for registrations from just one of the 3-4 open events? |

You can add tracking code by using a function like this one: https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/eb9ad8053b29b0d2eff322fe9b1dbbd1 You can add the above to a functions plugin or, if available, into your WordPress child theme’s functions.php file. The above code will watch for a custom field on the event (tracking_value). If that value is set, then it will output whatever tracking code you add to the function + the tracking code value set in the event’s custom field. Please note: You will need to deactivate the Multi Event Registration add-on for the above code to be reliable. If Multi Event Registration is activated and more than one event is in the cart, then 50% of the time the tracking code will not be output. |

Josh: While I understand the concept of what you’re saying, I have to admit this is going way beyond my ability. I have even checked in with my website designer and he was no help either. Can you tell me: Do I have any pre-paid customer service time left on my account that I could use to have someone at EventEspresso do this for me? If not, is it possible to pay for someone there to do this for me or spend some time with me directly to actually teach me what you’re saying? |

Hi, It’s not really clear how you’re even tracking the traffic, so no we can not just do this for you without some clear direction for what the tracking code even looks like. Do you have any documentation for the tracking code you need to add? I checked your account and do not see any support token time remaining. If you purchase a support token, we could add the tracking code, but we’ll need to know what tracking code to add. |
