How do we create a “custom” payment received email (EE4) so that the registrant receives one registration confirmation email and one payment received “custom” email? Our goal is to send out to the registrant one registration confirmation email and one payment received custom email. |
Hi, It sounds like the message your are editing is for the Event Admin Context. Take a look here for details on message contexts: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-message-contexts/ You can either edit the default templates (and edit the Primary Registrant context) or create a custom message template and then edit the context for that. Is this custom Payment Received message to be used by all of your events or this specific one/some of your events? |

These custom payment received emails will be used for one-time/one-date specific events. |
In that case you’ll want to create Custom Templates. From within the Event Editor, select ‘Create Custom’ for the Payment Received message type – http://take.ms/V6GWH Provide a name for the template and then within the same area, click the Edit button, this will take you to that specific message template – http://take.ms/Ny30Q Notice you are currently within the Event Admin context. (Although as there is nothing within the ‘To’ field, this is disabled) Switch to the Primary Registrant context, using the Dropdown and button highlighted in the Screenshot. After switching you’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/XfbRg That is the message sent to the Primary Registrant, make your edits here then click save. Does that help? |

September 22, 2014 at 11:02 am We have tried numerous times to set up the emails so that the customer receives one email from PayPal and one confirmation email from EE. Can we give you access to the back end so that you can configure this for us? |
September 22, 2014 at 11:21 am Hi Chuck, In one of the screenshots that was shared last week, the incorrect message type was being edited. You were editing the event admin when it should have been for the registrant (attendee). Have you tried Tony’s directions above to setup those templates? https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-payment-received-emails-using-ee4/#post-118919 — |

September 22, 2014 at 11:45 am Yes, we have created a custom template using Tony’s directions. Been working on this for days on end and I am not able to configure it properly. |

Please view this page: http://woolworthtours.com/test/ note: the client always receives the default registration approval email. |
Hi, I think you are almost there. Multiple recipients Remember that each message type has multiple recipients. If you edit the message type for Registration approved for the registrant, then any customizations will ONLY apply to this email notification sent to the attendee/registrant. If you wanted to apply these edits to the event admin for Registration approved, then you would also need to edit this message type. Tony’s directions were for creating a custom message template for the payment received message type for the primary registrant. When you say your client, you are referring to the site owner. Therefore, you would need to also apply the customizations to the event admin message type for payment received. Again, this is because each message type (e.g. registration approved, payment received) has multiple recipients (e.g. event admin, registrant). Notes on the screenshot: When you edit the fields in the message editor, you’ll need to save after (blue button in top right area of screen). Entering a new shortcode does not save automatically. On the last example, the recipient is event admin. This means you are editing the message type for the event admin or event author. The primary registration email shortcode should not be used here because the event admin is not an attendee or recipient. By default, the event admin does not receive payment received emails. Your recent screenshot shows that you are trying to enable a custom payment received email for the event author (your client). Should the event admin receive registration approved emails (enabled by default)? Should the event admin receive registration pending payment emails (enabled by default)? — |
