Hi there, I have edited nearly all of the message templates, to remove the background grey colour and the company name (as our company name is in the logo). These are all set, have been tested, and show as ‘in use’. However when I register for an event, the email that I’m being sent is the default one with the old formatting. How I do make sure only the custom ones get sent? Thanks |

Hi there, First, let’s confirm if you have edited the correct message ‘context’. When a message type is sent it can be used in multiple ‘contexts’, for example the Message Approved message you send to the Event Admin is likely have different wording than what you send to the Registrant themselves. So when I see issues with messages, its often because the wrong contexts has been edited (changing something within the ‘Event Admin’ context and then checking the Registrant email to see if it changed). For some details on message contexts, see here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/ — Also, may I ask, are you using custom messages for specific events? ‘Custom’ messages within EE are intended to be those selected on specific events which then differ from the default templates. It sounds like you may want all events to have the same changes and use those by default, is that correct? If so, you likely want to change the default message templates, those are the templates used on all events by default rather than having to set custom templates on each event. |

Hi Tony, It’s not an issue of contexts, because I have edited ALL the contexts (for all recipients) in each email type. So custom messages exist for primary registrant, other registrants, and site admin – but the default messages are still sending. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “are you using custom messages for specific events?” I assumed that if I created custom messages that ALL messages would then use the custom format. Is that not correct? The answer to your question is YES, I would like all events to have the same changes and use them by default. On the default message templates page I only have the option with the little brush to make a custom template – is there a different way to apply the changes to the default ones instead? Thanks, |

I’ve just seen how to change the message template at an event level, so got that one sorted for now 🙂 But if you can let me know how to change the default message templates for all events, that would be great. |

You can do that by going to your EE Dashboard, Open Events who used global(default) notification if that is what you want to modify, then click edit. After you save it, you can confirm by going to different event, and click the edit again to see if your changes was saved. Here’s article regarding messages, encase you need it. thanks |

Got it, thank you Rio! I’ve done that now. |
