Hi,

I’m considering buying licenses for a client with several websites.

One of the requirements is to be able to assign one or many “Speakers” to an event.

I was looking at the info snippets provided at your website but wasn’t able determine if the following is possible:

a) Speakers should be handled like categories in WP. So there’s a list and you can add as many to an event as you want.

b) Another requirement would be to add be able to add a link to each speaker so the rendered name can point to a page which provides additional information about that person.

Is a) and/or b) possible?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The event editor in Event Espresso 4 does support event categories so each speaker could be added as a category there. A link to a page for each event speaker could also be added to the event description area.

You can register for the demo site for Event Espresso 4 here to give this a try:

Hi,

yes… I did. It looks like this: http://imgur.com/IZfWUrj

It it possible to add another taxonomy component that behaves like “category” (-> “speakers”)? … so “category” + “speakers”?

Hi,

Not currently but we are working on a “People” addon that will bring in people (speakers, staff, etc) as a custom post type that can be linked to events (venues, etc will not be available initially).

This add on is still in development stages currently but hopefully we will release a beta version soon.

Hi,

ok. That’s good news I guess. I need that feature within the first two months of 2015. Is this within your roadmap / is it possible to buy some support tokens to support the development, thus ensuring that it will be ready by that time?
