Hi,
I want to change a field in a message (invoice resend) so the saluation is the name that appears as the name of the person who pays the bill, not the person attending the event.

Currently the default msg has a field Hi [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FNAME],

How can I change this to First Name (Billing) (This is a custom field I created for the registration form)

Is there a list somewhere that displays all the shortcodes, including those for fields / questions I created?

Hi there,

How can I change this to First Name (Billing) (This is a custom field I created for the registration form)

That custom question will have been assigned to a group, assuming it’s a group assigned to the Primary registrant you can use the [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*] shortcode.

That shortcode takes the ‘Question text’ field from a specific question and pulls the answer provided byt the primary registrant for it, so in your example if the question text of your custom question is:

First Name (Billing)

Then you shortcode would be:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_*First Name (Billing)]

Is there a list somewhere that displays all the shortcodes, including those for fields / questions I created?

There’s a list of available shortcodes for each individual section in the message editor, click the icon to view them in each section – http://take.ms/J4lQK

Each individual section has access to different objects, so each section has different shortcodes available to it.

You can also find an explanation of each shortcode in the help section (top right of the page) – http://take.ms/OAMoj

Also, you asked about including shortcodes for custom questions, we don’t list those for a few reasons but mainly because we don’t know how a specific question is used across all events. The first name question you mentioned above could be assigned to a Primary registrant on one event and an additional on another, the messages system can’t know that when editing the template so we can’t list them in the way you are requesting. (We could list all possible combinations but the list will very quickly become confusing and unusable).
