I’m looking at renewing my subscription to Event Espresso but will only do so if I can now add a custom field to the Registrant Details section. I’d like to add a “Handicap” field for this Golf Tournament Event I have setup.
I wasnt around at Event Espresso when 3.1.15.P was released, I thought it was possible then, but this is certainly possible now.
You can simply use a Question and Question Groups to add new and unique questions to an event, either for the primary attendant, additional attendees or both.
We have a guide in the documentation for updating from old versions of Event Espresso, but the main thing is to make sure that you have made a full backup and that you update WordPress and any Event Espresso addons as well. IF you have modified the templates the new templates will need to be re-modified.

This is possible in both 3.1.15.P and the latest version. What you can do is add the Handicap field as a question on the Event Espresso>Questions screen. Then you can add the question to a group in Event Espresso>Question Groups.
Then you can open the event editor to edit that event and verify that the group you added the new question to is checked in the Event Question box.
