Hi

We’re having an issue trying to export our Event data. Using our current .htaccess files, I am getting a “403 – forbidden page”. However, if I revert back to a basic .htaccess file, it looks like the file is downloading but nothing actually downloads.

Do you know what could cause the forbidden error?

Thank you

Hi Porter,

It sounds like the changes you’re making to the .htaccess file are blocking the export scripts from processing properly.

Hi Porter,

Are you manually adding rules to the .htaccess file?

What is the difference between ‘your’ version and the ‘basic’?

The forbidden error will be from one of your rules but we can’t say which one without seeing them. If you post them I can take a look and see if anything stands out, failing that it’s a case of troubleshooting through each rule to find the cause.

It not working with the ‘basic’ version where it shows its generating but then does not usually happens when the site is not set to load over HTTPS but then redirects all traffic to HTTPS.

Some browsers now block downloads from a HTTPS site if the download is HTTP.

Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> General

Are the ‘WordPress Address (URL)’ and ‘Site Address (URL)’ set to use HTTP or HTTPS?
