I want to be able to create a new message template that contains hotel information only. Would I just take a default message and customize it for my needs? Then I’m guessing I would use a function to send it once the registration is approved?

Hi there,

EE already has custom message templates available in core, could you not create a custom message template (say a custom Registration Approved template) for the event in question and assign it to the event so it’s used in place of the original (the ‘default message template’)?

The ‘default message templates’ are the message templates that are used by default for all event, but you can create custom versions of those with whatever details you need and then set the custom template(s) on specific events. Other events will just continue to use the ‘default’ template.

Is that what you are looking for?

I need an email notification for the hotel booking information. I have put it on the meeting receipt before but we need this one to have it’s own email. I don’t see that type of email template listed. Am I missing something?

I’m not sure what the ‘meeting receipt’ is? I’m assuming the ‘Registration Approved’ email type.

No, we don’t have that type of email as an additional email because the feedback we received from EE3 showed that we needed as few email as possible. We still, with EE receive feedback stating we have too many email yet they are all customizable and each individual one can be disabled.

So if you must have your own separate email for this you would need custom development to add your own message type. Generally most used add those details to the Registration Approved email so that its both combined into a single email, and only sent when the registration is approved (meaning the registration applies to the sold values).
