I need to figure out how to add the details from my Registration Form questions/answers in my emails and invoices. This is something that should be standard in a registration confirmation email. After reviewing the page at https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-email-tags I was placing [question_Agency/Organization Name] [answer_Agency/Organization Name] (one of my questions from my form) and no matter where I place it in the message: Main Content, [EVENT_LIST], [ATTENDEE_LIST] *: [DATETIME_LIST] *: or [QUESTION_LIST] *: I get errors and it tells me I can’t use those fields as they aren’t valid. Am I doing something wrong? The widi states that [question_Form question] displays a specific question from the registration form and that the question title and text after question_ must be the same. Under Question it says, “Agency/Organization Name” so I’m assuming that’s the title. |
Hello, That page applies to Event Espresso 3. In EE4, the shortcodes for certain areas are shown on the right side of the screen when editing a message template. If you try to add a shortcode that is not in a certain section, then it will fail with an error message. For example, this screenshot shows some of the shortcodes that are available for the Event List area of the message template: http://cl.ly/image/0O3g310Z2R39 — |

In the message area for EE4, It shows: [ANSWER_*] Also, my error message when trying to use Agency/Organization Name: [ANSWER_Agency/Organization Name] in the [ATTENDEE_LIST] *: field says this: The following shortcodes were found in the “[ATTENDEE_LIST]” field that ARE not valid: [ANSWER_Agency/Organization Name],[ANSWER_attendees-discipline-selection-for-breakout-sessions] Valid shortcodes for this field are: [FNAME], [LNAME], [EDIT_ATTENDEE_LINK], [REGISTRATION_CODE], [FRONTEND_EDIT_REG_LINK], [ANSWER_*], [EVENT_LIST], [TICKET_LIST], [QUESTION_LIST]” So what I’m trying to do should work based on this information! |

Actually, in regards to the error message I tried the exact wording for the Question (capitalization matches exactly) and the Admin Label in the case of ],[ANSWER_attendees-discipline-selection-for-breakout-sessions] but neither worked. But according to my screen in the message area the syntax for [ANSWER_Agency/Organization Name] in the [ATTENDEE_LIST] *: area should work. |

I have resolved this issue. I simply placed [RECIPIENT_QUESTION_LIST] in the Main Content Area. |
