We have an event created with three different tickets. User can select any quantity of any ticket. We have created different coupons for Promotion. Some coupons also have 100% discount.
Now if i select 10 quantities of a ticket and the pricing of that ticket is 1000 USD then cart total equals to 10000 USD.
And when i apply 100% coupon code it reduces cart total to 0, whereas expected behaviour is that the coupon code should make only one quantity of the ticket to 0 and the cart total should be 9000 USD.

How can i achieve this in Event Espresso 4 ?

If this is not a feature which is in Event Espresso 4 but is present in Event Espresso 3, then please let me know that how can we switch back to EE3 and what effect will it have on our site ?

What are the advantages of EE4 on EE3 ?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out today.

Acutually what you’re seeing is expected behavior for the Event Espresso Promotions add-on: It applies the discount to the event, not the cart. So in other words if there were tickets for two events in the cart and the 100% discount was applied, it would only discount the ticket(s) for one of the events, not both.

For your use case, you could instead set a promotion discount amount to equal the amount of one ticket (in the example, a discount amount of $1000).

Yes, this we can do but we are having multiple tickets with different costs, in one event. And a user can select any quantities of any ticket and purchase the ticket.

Ticket 1 costs is 1000
Ticket 2 costs is 500
Ticket 3 costs is 250

For example i create a coupon of 1000 USD amount. And if user purchases 2 tickets of 250, and applies my coupon, how will this work ?

Also send me your response on the below:

Hi,

What will happen is they’ll have a $0 balance after applying the coupon.

If this is not a feature which is in Event Espresso 4 but is present in Event Espresso 3, then please let me know that how can we switch back to EE3 and what effect will it have on our site ?

It’s not a feature in Event Espresso 3. The same promotion code set up of a 100% discount would have a similar effect on an EE3 site.

What are the advantages of EE4 on EE3 ?

One example, you can have an event with multiple tickets with prices like $1000, $500, $250 and so on, where the user can purchase multiple quantities of different tickets. This wasn’t possible out-of-the-box with Event Espresso 3.

Aside from the many features that exist in EE4 compared to EE3, development of EE3 has ended. All new features and improvements are going into EE4. Along with that, while EE3 licenses are still available for those that have made the switch yet, eventually EE3 licenses will no longer be offered.
