Hi, I am running EE4. Is there a widget or shortcode to display a countdown to next event timer?

Hi there,
It doesn’t, but you can use a plugin like this one to publish a countdown timer for your upcoming event dates:

Thanks for getting back. I wanted something dynamic – that would update to the next upcoming event when one passes. It seems like I would have to specify date with this plugin.

That’s correct, you would need to specify a date in the other plugin. That said, a custom plugin similar the above linked plugin could be built to make something dynamic where it could pull in the next upcoming datetime from Event Espresso. Which would require some custom PHP programming.
