I had WPEngine support disable caching on the EE URL paths a while ago, but this error has popped up again after updating to EE4. Here is an event that shows this error when I try to register.

Heartbeat is enabled as well.

Anything else to consider?

Can you ask them to double-check and make sure the
event-registration URL is on their do not cache list?

The reason I ask is because I checked the site and the /events/ and /thank-you/ urls include response headers that say
X-Type:nocachepath.

The /event-registration/ page includes response headers like
X-Type:default, X-Cache, X-Cache-Group, and X-Cacheable.

OK. That URL path is not included in the support article for caching…

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/

Do you need to update the article and the gists for the suggested support requests to include this path? Or is our setup unique?

It’s your unique set up. The documentation shows those URLs because they’re the Event Espresso defaults. Since your site has uses /event-registration/ instead of /registration-checkout/ for the Checkout page, then your list will be different.

Happy to report that all is well now after adding that path to the nocache settings.
