Confirmation Emails Sent, but Registrants Not Appearing in EE4

Currently having issues with attendees and admin receiving confirmation emails, but when they go to edit their registration today, they receive an error: “Your Registration and Transaction information could not be retrieved from the db.” Yesterday, they could edit their registration info just fine through the link included in the confirmation email, and they are using the same link (or rather trying to) to access it today.

Upon further investigation, it appears they do not show up in EE at all. These are folks who were registered by us, through the manual registration tool, and have no payment info/updates entered. During the time they were registered, we registered 8-10 people in the span of an hour or so, and only two of them disappeared. I am not sure whether they showed up in EE yesterday or not.

What can we do to keep this from happening in the future? The registration flow we’ve set up (for a banquet with tables that need to be filled) requires most often multiple edits to the registration info before it’s all said and done.

Hi there,

Can you check on something first? If you go to Event Espresso > Registrations, then across the page from “View All Registrations” you’ll click the link that says “Trash”. Do any of the registrations appear there?

Hey Josh, thanks for the quick reply. Meant to mention that in my original post but forgot — checked Trash, and the Incomplete folder too just for good measure. Nothing there.

Can you check your installed WordPress plugins and/or with your host to see if there is any Database Caching in place?

We do have WP Super Cache activated.

I don’t believe WP Super Cache does database caching.

I wasn’t sure, but that’s the only caching of any kind that we do.

May I ask, when you or your staff is manually adding registrations are you making sure you clear the session after each one you add? If not, then the registrations may be getting overwritten with the next ones that get added (especially if the back button is getting hit to get to add more registrations). The way you avoid this is you make sure to hit the “Finalize” button, and you avoid using the back button after between adding one registration and adding the next one.
