The confirmation email for my event doesn’t show the start and end dates even though I have the codes in the email. Thank you for registering for [event]. This season starts on [start_date] and runs until [end_date]. We look forward to working with you. The start and end dates are blank. What do you suggest? Wordpress 3.8.1 |
Hi, Can you please check the dates in your event and make sure they are in the following format 2014-03-12 (year-month-day). Using the datepicker will automatically add them in that format. |
Hi there. Thanks for helping. Yes, the dates are in that format: 2014-03-09. I used the datepicker. |
Hi Jeanne, Do your events have both event start/end times and registration start/end times? |
Hi Tony, Yes, I’ve got both start/end dates for registration and event, and times for registration, but not times for event. Does that make a difference? Thanks. |
Yes, It does for the email shortcodes. There are exceptions but I would recommend considering all of the Event Dates/Times section as required for EE to function correctly http://take.ms/7XI8S Can you include times for one of the events, update the event, then either run a test registration or simply re-send the registration email from the attendee list please. Do the dates then show within that email? |
Hmmm. I entered a start time and end time. In fact, I entered two start times since attendees have the option of attending either session. (The drop down box works well on the registration form.) The result — NO confirmation email is being sent at all. Even after I deliberately click on the “resend confirmation” for my test registration. Any ideas? I’ll keep trying. Thank you. |

Still no luck… |
Hi Jeanne, This is a strange issue, which format are yo using for the times? Have you modified any of Event Espresso core files? You could also install a plugin such as Email Log and see if WordPress is actually sending the emails. As you are using Event Espresso Premium, can you log into the account which you have a support license with please. |

Hi Tony, Thank you for your help. I am a novice at WordPress and Event Expresso, so I haven’t dared mess with any core files. I do know WordPress is (used to) send the emails since I registered my son initially for the High Five America basketball clinics, and we received the email (with no start/end times). I entered the times as: 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm — the same format as the defaults for start and stop times. Do you need further information from me? site license key? anything? What do you suggest next? thx |
Hi Jeanne, It looks like your account has not automatically updated to include your support license when you purchased Event Espresso, I have alerted our sales team who will investigate and be in contact shortly. If you could send an email to sales@eventespresso.com with the Transaction ID from when you purchased Event Espresso & a reference to this thread it will help speed up the process. In the mean time, could you try de-activating all Plugins other than Event Espresso and try re-sending the confirmation email. Does it now send? |
All right. I sent the email per your instructions. thanks. I also deactivated all Plugins (other than Event Espresso). Still doesn’t send. To my eyes, everything looks right…. |
Hi Jeanne, I replied to your email. Please follow up with me there. |

Tony (Garth), any further suggestions as to what to try to get the confirmation emails working? Thx. |
Hi Jeanne, Did you install the Check Email plugin and see if the emails are being sent since the times have been input? Please log into your premium account so that we can assist you further. |
