Our customers have been reporting that the date in the confirmation email is different from the date they signed up for. It happens many times lately. Thank you |
Hi there, Does it happen if you run through a test payment on the above event yourself? I’ve added a test registration on your November 6th event under my name, can you mark that registration Approved and trigger messages so I receive the emails and view this, please? |
Actually, I’ve just noticed your support token so I will check this myself and contact you through that shortly. |

I see that you did a test registration. Let us know what you see. It doesn’t always register on the wrong date, but enough times that it’s a problem. |
Hi there, I actually replied directly via email a little earlier today, have you not had my email? |
Hi Tony-I didn’t receive an email. Can you please respond via this thread? It is easier for me to track. Thanks |
Sure, here is the content of the email: Hi Maureen, I checked into your November 6th event and found one registration that had an email for the 20th event, under the name ‘Keri DeGeronimo’, is that the registration you have had problems with? Looking into that registration the originally registered onto the event on the 20th and the attendee mover add-on was used to move that registration to the 6th, so on the 18th they received the emails for the event they originally registered onto, and then on the 20th when the registration was moved they received the messages with the ‘new’ date on (and also a registration cancelled email for the original registration) Here is a list of messages EE has sent to that user: http://take.ms/6Qshi You can view those here: https://www.arworkshop.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_messages&action=default&filterby=1&_REG_ID=15015&default_nonce=ac5e0c52c3 So it appears they had the correct messages, the first set from the original registration and the second set from the new registration, they both show the correct dates within those. Is that the correct user? |
Thinking about this more, it sounds like the problem is not the wrong date within the confirmation email but the fact that the users are registering onto the wrong event and you are then having to move them onto the correct event using the attendee mover add-on. Is that correct? |

Hi Tony, We also had a class recently that had 25 people limit and 1 extra person was able to register for the class, overbooking it.. How is that even possible? |
Hi Maureen, What this actually looks like is they registered for the November 20 class but they intended to sign up for the November 6 class. If you look at the registration list for: You’ll notice these two classes are displayed together on the event list page: Some things that may help prevent this from happening again include adding some space between each event listed there, possibly adding a border around each class or a contrasting background color, and displaying the date of the event on the list. If you need help with incorporating any of those ideas into the theme please let us know.
That’s possible when the Default Registration Status for the event is set to Pending Payment and they make a registration but do not pay. Those Pending Payment registrations do not count toward the limit (and therefore do not secure a spot) unless they get set to Approved. |

Our customers don’t view classes using the event view list, they use the agenda view on mobile, or the calender view on laptops. So I don’t understand how they can continually register for the wrong class. |
Do you have other examples where someone registered for event a, but intended to register for event b, and the events did not have a similar name? It seems that whenever there’s a mixup it’s because the events were very similar (different date or venue, but same type of project). It’s possible to add a redirect so if anyone browses to: We can set that redirect up for you, would that workshop-locations page be okay or is there another page you prefer? |
Can we turn the Events page off all together? If you think that’s causing the problem, and we don’t use that page or want people using it, then can we make it not visible at all? How would they even get to that page?? |
You can’t disable it, but you can redirect away from it to another page so if anyone does try to load it they will see the other page, in Josh’s example that’s the workshop-locations page. They may be viewing an event and alter the URL to get back, for example if they view this event: https://www.arworkshop.com/events/framed-wood-sign-or-centerpiece-box-workshop-22/ Then remove |
From a Google search results page too: |
I doubt they would be removing the permalink to get back to the Events page. But I do see that they could be accessing the page via a web search. Can you set up a redirect for the main event page to go to our main calendar page, https://www.arworkshop.com/pineville/#pinevillecalendar |
This is done. If you ever need to change the redirect it can be edited by going to WP > Tools > Redirection. |
