Confirmation email delayed

I’m testing my site before I go live and it’s not sending immediate confirmation emails. It’s taking anywhere from 3-12 hours to receive confirmation.

I’ve tried changing the email to several different ones and no luck. Is there something I’m doing wrong. Need help as I have less than two months to sell tickets for a conference.

Hi Luis,

The delays are likely being caused by the email server being shared amongst several sites and it’s overloaded.

I think the way forward on this one is to sign up for a transactional email service like Mandrill or Postmark. Then after you do that, you can install and configure the service-appropriate plugin on your site.

I’ve added postmark and set it up. I sent two test emails which took 9 minutes each. I Changed some of the settings now the test emails are almost instant.

The event espresso emails are still erratic. I received the registration summary for 2 test registrations, but not the confirmation emails to the addresses i sent them to.

How can i integrate Event espresso emails with postmark?

It turns out that Event Espresso emails are automatically integrated with postmark once the WordPress installation is configured to send emails via postmark because Event Espresso emails get sent via the wp_mail() function. Can you check the postmark account and look where it shows the outbound activity? If so, there should be an entry for the emails being sent out thorough your WP install. Are the emails listed there?
