Have a medical conference being held as a live course and as a webcast. Have always had a printed syllabus. How do I add it as an item that can be purchased in addition to a conference ticket, but not by itself?

Previous plug in allowed me to add the syllabus as a “non-attendee” item, meaning someone couldn’t purchase it without registering for the conference. Problem we ran into was people signing up for the webcast, but choosing the syllabus for the live course, which was cheaper since it didn’t have to be shipped.

Hi Rob,

You can set the conference ticket to be required (you click on the gear icon in the ticket editor, then check the box next to “This ticket is required”.) Then the printed syllabus can be another ticket item that can only be purchased if the conference ticket is in the cart.

I tried that, but client didn’t like it referred to as a “ticket”, so I just made it part of the registration and created a coupon code to remove it if they didn’t want it. Client was thrilled. LOVES this plug in over our old one. Thanks very much!

Hi Rob,

If you get a request from the client where they don’t want to use a promo code, there’s a way to add non-ticket items as a transaction surcharge. This does require a working knowledge of PHP programming. There’s some example code in the code snippets library that shows how:

Yep, that’s exactly what we did. Thanks!
