We want our customers to select a discounted price based on the organization they represent. Certain organizations receive a discount. The way we have it right now, unqualified customers keep selecting the discount anyway. Is there any way to make a specific price or promo code available only to people who might select a certain answer in the registration page?
1) Use the Price Modifier addon to set it so that the answer to X question modify the ticket price. While this will work, you would have to set the answers first (so dropdown, checkbox questions only) and there is still nothing to stop the others from selecting them.
2) You could use the WP User Integration addon and make the customers who get a discount site members. Then when logged in they can receive a member discount that can be set per event. E.g. Event A costs $100 to no logged in users, logged in the price will be $80.
Issues with this are that the discount will be the same per customer per event (e.g. Company A and Company B both being members will see the same discounted price) and if you already have a membership system in place, making different levels receive the discount is hard (unless you use S2Member, then we have a beta addon that change the threshold, so for example Bronze members don’t see the discount but Silver and above do).
I like the price modifier option but the program is still a pre-release feature. It says we shouldn’t use it on a live website. Any information on if its safe to use or when it will be released?
Hi Susan, that is a warning as it isn’t possible to test every condition for the price modifier on our systems.
