Is there a way to have comp tickets for big donors that is also linked to the inventory to the event?

Hi, this can be done in three steps:
1) Manually add a registration through the WP-admin
2) Apply a payment as an adjustment to zero any balance due through the transactions page
3) Send tickets to registrants/attendees through registration page
You can add a registration through the WP dashboard:
WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Events. Hover over name/title of event –> Registrations –> Add New Registration

Remove the checkmark from send related messages.
Then go to the transactions screen and apply a payment like so:

The last step would be to go to the registration and click on the resent registration details button:
