This was from another post and I am having a same issues:

My clients receive an automated request to create a password, although my settings say force login for registration: no, Auto create users with registrations: yes, Default role for auto-created users: subscriber, Default registration status: pending.

Answer:That’s expected, WordPress doesn’t email passwords anymore so when EE automatically creates a new user (with your above settings) WP sends an email informing the user to create a password.

How does the client make a password? I did this as a mock up trial and I was confused myself…. The email I got back as my mock up was:

Username: dontreply@ticketswift.co To set your password, visit the following address: https://ticketswift.co/wp-login.php

When I click on login ../wp-login.php of course it sends me to login and not a place to set up a password. I went to even put in ‘forgot password’ to setup a new password and it says a email was sent out but I never received it. Not quite sure what else to do…

Hi there,

The link you posted above is missing parts of the query string, your email client may be removing those or if you’ve copied the text they won’t show.

If you view the source of one of the password emails sent by WP you can see something like this – http://take.ms/bFbI7

Although the link shows just https://example.com/wp-login.php the link itself should actually be something like this:

https://example.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=TadLtIwNaNQ5h6UlsoDv&login=example.email.com

Clicking the link should show something like this – http://take.ms/S5vKe

I am using gmail gsuite and the person who sent me the issue was also using gmail as well. Is there something I can do to resolve this?

So the person who emailed me got this message: https://ibb.co/h3EE8G

However, when I signed up I got this email: https://ibb.co/e3OVhb

The first email example that was sent to a friend was sent out by gmail service. It says in a drop down menu, mailed-by and signed-by: gmail.com .

The second email example that was sent to me, with mailed-by and signed-by indicates ‘pm.mtasv.net’. It’s my best guest it is postmark who sent it out.

In the app I have checked: Force HTML (Force emails to be sent as HTML) & Track email opens (force html is required)

Is this something that post mark has done?

The click tracking may be breaking the link, try disabling that and retest.
