We set up the event, in fact I did the update and now everytime I click on the event, the page just refreshes and brings me back to the home page of the website. Please HELP

Hi there,
Can you log into the WP dashboard, then go to the WP > Settings > Permanlinks admin page? That will refresh the site’s rewrite rules and should fix the issue you’re seeing with the event page.

Greetings sir, I did that, I went in and the Permlink settings are custom /%postname%/
When you go to the Event page and click on the “View Details” or the event title the page refresehes and bring you back to the home page please take a look here

Whats so funny it will show the event name in the url example: http://www.noinewyork.org/events/dance-of-the-ages/
but its the home page still, I cant even see the event to register.

Im running WordPress 4.7.8 and the Event Expresso Plugin Im using 4.9.53

Its definitely an issue with your permalinks.
If you go here: http://www.noinewyork.org/?espresso_events=dance-of-the-ages
You can view the event and register.
Do you have any other plugins that deal with events? Or maybe your themes has an ‘events’ section in the admin?
Try going to Event Espresso -> Events -> Template settings.
Set the ‘Event slug’ option on that page to something other than events, ‘event-temp’ for example.
Refresh your permalinks again as above and retest and event link, does it work then?

It is the Permalink I see, but when I did what you recommended it now gives me the “404 error”

What gives you a 404? http://www.noinewyork.org/event/?
When you change the slug you need to check the new slug:
http://www.noinewyork.org/eventsnyc/
Something is conflicting with the /events/ url, likely another plugin or your theme. Have you recently changed/installed any plugins?
You’ll need to change the slug back to ‘events’ and run through the troubleshooting steps Josh posted above, with one additional note, you may likely need to refresh your permalinks for each test to confirm if it works.

What happened, the “Events” in the menu was a custom link so when I updated the event slug for Event Expresso I needed to update the Events slug to match what I update dit too. Everything works and I can now check out! Thank you!
