I’m interested in Event Espresso but haven’t seen anyone talking about using it for class registrations where there may be more than one location and time schedule for the class. For example, class A might be at location X on Mondays at 5:30 but at location Y on Tuesdays at 6:30.

Can anyone comment on how EE might handle this (and maybe also give any opinion about EE 4 vs EE 3 in regards to this scenario). I’m new to EE so I don’t have much to go on at this point.

Hi Davison,

How are you today?

We have yet to officially allow each datetime for an event to be associated with its own venue. But I think there is a decent workaround.

With EE4 you can provide names and descriptions for both the ticket and datetimes. Here is an example I configured for you: http://demoee.org/garth2/events/italian-cooking-class/

Click the “show details +” button for each of the tickets. You’ll notice that the tickets are the class names and I used the datetime names as the location.

That way you can let someone choose one or many tickets, but also provide a location for each date/time (datetime).

Does that help a little?

Thanks Garth,

Ultimately I’d like to have users be able to go to a class page, and on that page have a dropdown for choosing the location of the class. For this client there would never be someone taking the same class at multiple locations so we wouldn’t need a multi-location ticket option.

I suppose for now I could create separate classes for each location (Class A – Location X, Class A – Location Y) and then have all those show up on the “Class A” page, right?

Also, from what I can see the EE4 base license includes everything necessary to integrate with Paypal right? I only see one addon available for EE4. Is this because most EE3 addons have been rolled into the EE4 core?

Yes, you could do it that way Davidson.

EE4 is a new codebase and database structure and we are in the process of re-writing most of the EE3 add-ons to work with EE4.
