Hi there, I just added a new promo code and when I tested it realized the checkout page is not working. I already checked the critical pages which says page status and short codes are all ok. I’m getting this error message after selecting an event and clicking register: “The page isn’t redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.” |

Here is the registration page: http://chestnutherbs.com/events/spring-medicinal-herb-cultivation-workshop-session-1/ I already checked my cookie settings and uninstalling the promotions plugin. Thanks! |
Hi Juliet, Are you using any caching services on your site? Could you let us know who you hosting provider is? Thanks — |

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks for the reply. Our provider is WP Engine, and I’m not sure if a caching service is being used. I looked at our list of plugins and didn’t see one. An update: I ended up just creating a new page for the registratoin checkout page (http://chestnutherbs.com/workshop-registration/) which I added to the critical pages. That page works. I’d still like to know why the original page wasn’t working… and we still get a message on the admin dashboard that a there may be an issue with our critical pages, though the page status and shortcode status still show as ok. Thanks! |
Hi Juliet, WPEngine runs server side caching on all of your sites pages, you won’t see a plugin for this as its done at the server level. You’ll need to contact their support and request they exclude all of the EE4 critical pages from caching, we have an example email you can use here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/ (Note that if you have changed the slugs for any of the critical pages you will need to send those to WPEngine inplace of the default ones) This is likely why your registration pages stopped working (as it was cached) and possibly why your critical pages show an error. Once you have requested the above pages have been excluded we can investigate this further. |
