Hi All,

I have Event Expresso version 4.1.4.

We recently added a check payment option (here in Australia we spell it cheque :)) to our events.

When someone registers for an event and clicks cheque and clicks to confirm registration, the registration confirmation message appearing on screen says that the “payment type” is “credit card”. See for example this one at:
http://lawsense.com.au/thank-you?r_id=20-53055f54a5992

Is there a quick way of changing this so that for cheque payments, the confirmation message say the payment type is “cheque”?

Regards,

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui,

May I go ahead and register for an event to try to duplicate this issue?

Sure, no problem. I have a test event at http://lawsense.com.au/victoria

Thanks. This looks like the prior version of Event Espresso 3. Could you confirm?

Huge apologies. The version we are using is in fact 3.1.32.2.P.

Do you have a custom version of the check gateway in uploads/espresso/gateways? I ran through a test registration on your site, and see the problem, but I ran through a test registration on my test site, and it’s not doing it. If you look in gateways/check/check_ipn.php at line 11 it should say:

$payment_data['txn_type'] = 'Check';

Thanks Sidney. We had a developer change the message that appeared once you clicked the “Check” option in the payments page after registration (The message starts with “Attention” etc). The developer just changed the wording, including “Check” to “Cheque” (which is how it is spelt in Australia) and also had some text underlined.

Could we engage the Exent Expresso team to fix the above problem – I guess I get a support token?

Regards,

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui,

You can use the English translation files (UK ones) as those have most of the odd American spellings and random vowel removals reverted back to English 😉

Here’s a guide – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/translating-event-espresso/ – (don’t worry about re-downloading WP, but you DO need to change the wp-content file).

Regarding the Credit Card Cheque issue, the strange thing is, I cannot reproduce that error on that version or any version of Event Espresso. My local copy of EE 3.1.32.2 shows “Payment Type: Check”

It might well be that the customisation of the wording caused an issue somewhere.

Reverting to the default gateway and using the language files is a safer bet (underlining can be done with CSS so your developer should be able to save that by making sure the CSS code is in the themes style.css or a plugin such as My Custom CSS).
