Check Out Error "Email address matches existing user"

I am testing my new event checkout and ad the Attendee Information step, I receive this error after putting in my name and email:

These are my current settings. If I understand correctly, it should not be giving this error? Or does the last item “always sync” need to be set to No?

That’s a different option from those settings, it needs to be disabled with a snippet of code as there isn’t an option for it:

You can add that to a custom functions plugin and we have some details on creating one here:

Side note – when using the above snippet I recommend you set the always sync option to be No.

I’m not clear on your answers.

Do I even need the WP User integration? We are simply selling tickets to concerts. Not memberships. There is no content, history, etc. needed.

I can’t answer that from the info given.

Why do you have that add-on installed?

We are simply selling tickets to concerts. Not memberships.

That add-on doesn’t give you memberships, it allow you to control the tickets available based on capabilities set on user accounts when they log in.

If you don’t need that, you don’t need the add-on.

There is no content, history, etc. needed.

If you don’t need registration history per user, you don’t need the add-on.
