Hi folks, I want the lessen the number of clicks required to make a sale, so can I change the View Details button to read Register which will bring me directly to the cart for that event? Or Can I keep the View Details button and add a Register button which brings me to the cart for that event. Also, can this button read Sold Out, when we are sold out? There is something similar going on here: http://thatdamguide.com/events-calendar/ |
Hi Marcus, I’m afraid that the calendar does not have the ability to add events directly to the cart. Another approach that you can take is use something like the events table template to display the events, and make a few edits to the table template so that it uses the add to cart function instead of a link to the event page. There are a few code examples in these other topics: https://eventespresso.com/topic/add-to-cart-in-espresso_table/#post-82897 https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-calendar-table-questions/#post-103797 |

Ok, so if you look at the calendar on the That Dam Guide website – http://thatdamguide.com/events-calendar/, you’ll see that he has it set up so that it either says Register or Sold Out. How do I make that happen? |
Hi, The difference that you are seeing is from the multiple event registration add-on. The site that you shared a link to does not offer registering for multiple events at once. You can change the button text for “View Details” to something else by using a gettext filter (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/#custom-function) but they will still be taken to the single event page. — |

Hi Lorenzo, Ok, that is half the problem solved. How do I get it to display Sold Out once the event is sold out? |
That happens automatically. |

Ok, thanks Lorenzo and Josh. That seems to be working. |

Hi Lorenzo, I used the Quick Localisation plugin to change the labels on my calendar. However, I also want to change the words Enter Attendee Information, from the registration page, but it hasn’t made the change. Am I missing something? Marcus |
That’s a translation ready string, so it should be translatable from that plugin. Since you asked in another thread about how to customize the cart, you’ll probably end up editing that template anyway. In which case you can change the text string directly in the template. |
