I have EE4 and WordPress 4, and i’m struggling to do some language localization. I am using english, so I’m not sure if I should be going over to grab files from github because I don’t see any “EN” PO files there, so I’m thinking No.

This installation is for students to register for classes, so there’s no “tickets”. I think I will change it to “seats” and see how that works. (open to idea here).

However I can’t figure out where to make the change. I’ve tried the quick localization plugin as well, but simply putting in Tickets and Seats didn’t seem to work.

Hi Mike,

Could you give a gettext filter a try?

Also, our language files are over on Glotpress but a gettext filter should be able to change the messaging:

Than you Lorenzo. I followed your suggestion and I used to link there to make my own plugin so that I can always easily access the syntax from within WordPress. I also like that this will reduce the chance that EE upgrades will break my changes.

Is there anything to be concerned about in doing this?

Hi Mike,

Your customizations will be preserved on a software update if they are in a site specific plugin.

What about on the registration page, such as …/registration-checkout/?ee=_register

“Ticket Details” I was able to change without issue, but not “TICKET NAME AND DESCRIPTION”

The gettext filter needs to include an exact match of the phrase which includes any spacing. This may not be immediately visible. However if you inspect the element using a free tool like Firebug or Chrome Developer Tools, then you should be able to see them.

If you get stuck, please upload a screenshot to WP media and link to it here so we can take a look.

Thanks!

Got it. I entered it as all caps because that’s how it was displayed but that was just a css transform. It should have been entered in lowercase.

Hi Mike,

Is this resolved now?

Yes, if I encounter other areas where i’m struggling to customize the verbiage, I will checkin with another post. Thank you.
