Hi there,

I am not sure how to ask my question, but here it goes:
I used to use WPBakery page builder for my website, and this plugin assigns the format of the pages and posts. Recently, this plugin does not work properly and I want to use the WordPress Gutenberg blocks instead for creating event post. But the WPBakery does not let me use the WP Blocks. If I deactivate the plugin, it crashes the whole website and I need to restore the website from the backup.Fixing this issue is not that easy.

My question is if there is a possibility to force the EE to use the WP Gutenberg blocks instead of using the WPBakery template.Or make EE to give me the option to choose the template for event post.

Omnilargess.com
EE 5.0.7
Thanks
Ted

Hi Ted,

So officially Event Espresso doesn’t support page builders like WPBakery.

EE events are a custom post type hybrid, the post is stored as custom post type and then we have custom tables we use to pull in all of the data in the background. What that means is that depend on what the Page Builder does some of them allow you to load EE events through a ‘template builder’ to change some aspects of the output, but its not something we officially support currently.

Or make EE to give me the option to choose the template for event post.

Do you have a screenshot of what you mean here? For example is that available somewhere else on the site?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for reply. I understand that you cannot support the page builder problem and appreciate your respond. Here is a screenshot of a new blog post and I have access to the Gutenberg Blocks:
Regular blog post

and here is the screenshot of a new EE event post:

Is there a way to force the EE to use the WP blocks?

Thanks again.

Oh, I see what you mean now.

In short, no, Event Espresso does not support the Gutenberg editor at this time. The EE event editor (and the routes it loads) is custom so right now to load Gutenberg there would require a significant refactor.

Thanks Tony. I think we should wait till then.

Cheers,
