Hi

I’ve been following this article to translate US spelling to UK equivalent using Poedit but I can’t get it to change. I’ve created a new .mo file and uploaded it to wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages as instructed but I’m still seeing the US spelling. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi James,

Can you post the full filename of the PO/MO files here please?

It should be either:

event_espresso-{locale}.mo
or
event-espresso-4-{locale}.mo

This is the full file name: event-espresso-4-en.mo

Hi,

Please rename the MO/PO files to

event-espresso-4-en_GB.mo
event-espresso-4-en_GB.po

Also make sure that you have defined the UK English language in the wp-config.php file: https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language#WordPress_v4.0_and_above

Thanks. Do both files need uploading to wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages?

I’ve managed to get it to work. Thanks for your help!

Hi James,

Both just to note both files do not need to be uploaded.

The PO files is the Human readable version of the MO file, so the PO file is for you to edit your translations, the MO file is create from that for WordPress to use, so you only need to upload the MO.
