Hi, I followed the instructions to edit the event-espresso-4-en_US.po file and uploaded it. There was no “languages” directory where indicated so I created one. Then I edited the wp-config file. So far I don’t see any changes. Likewise I created a site specific plugin to change the text on a button and I’m not seeing any difference. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
The site is https://iaabcconference.org/espanol/registration/. Basically I changed all of the text to Spanish (Some of it already is in Spanish but that I was able to edit right in the event registration area).

Did you create a .MO file?
.PO is the human readable file and is not used by WP for translations.
.MO is the machine code version that is generated from the .PO file, that is used for the translations. You can generate this file by opening up the PO file in PO edit and clicking save. The .MO file will be generated in the same directory as the PO fie, that’s hTe file you need.

Just to confirm, you mean within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/?
Then I edited the wp-config file.
With the latest version of WP this isn’t actually needed, you just need to make sure your site language is set correct within Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Site language.
