Changing Margin widths on Invoice Template

Greetings all,

Looking forward to getting out of the dev site and into the real world with Event Espresso, but it is the small details holding me back.

For example: The print width of the invoice. Margins too wide to accommodate an A4 paper with pre-punched holes. It is not a professional looking print.

I have beed tweaking some of the fundamental parts of content on the invoice ok in the template, but making a width change happen is just as elusive as Bigfoot for me, and I have (seriously) been looking for him for years…

I have been editing the invoice template in EE4 in the WP control panel…and have searched for clues in the “Text” view…and have also tried to simply shrink the box (like a text box in word, or ppt) that appears in the Visual view.

Any quick tips out here from you pros???

It is the ONLY thing holding me back from going live…
And pardon me for not being a code dude or dudet…I am just rolling by intuition, instinct, and straight forward action – learning as I go!

Thanks in advance!!

//Evan

Hi Evan,

So you basically just need whitespace on either size of the invoice when printed?

Can you link me to an event I can run a registration on to view this please? Or link directly to an invoice so I can view that.

Hi Tom…correct.
I have been “daring” and evolving by intuition and I see that it has to do with <td colspan=”1″>…and to simply set that in the right spots does the trick. Different positions of 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. — seems as though 1 is the correct fit for the left side.

( I got the top left logo shifted now & address) at least on the left margin. Am I a correct in my assessment that I can drop that in on a section heading on the right side as well?

Here is how it is looking if this link works…I want to accomplish the same down the left margin & repeat on right margin to tighten it up.

Like negotiation…intuition can only get you so far! Not seeing much change as I make my way down the template code & drop in <td colspan=”1″> at areas I think might be affected…but I’ll keep experimenting one attempted change at a time until I get advice from a pro, such as you!
