Hi guys,

I’m trying to change the word “Attendee” to “Guest”. I tried with Quick Localization, but it doesn’t work. I also try to add a function in the theme function.php but then the site goes blank. Also I can get the translation working with POE edit….any other solution?

Thanks,
Ale

Hi Alessandro,

We can help you with this. Where are you trying to make this change?

Also, what is the function that you added to your child theme’s functions.php file?

Hi Lorenzo,

I could get the translation working with another plugin (

However, it doesn’t work everywhere on the shopping cart page. For instance in the box where I can select the different ticket options, there is text reading “You can register a maximum of 6 attendees for this event.” at the bottom -> how can I change attendees to guests? I couldn’t find that in the shopping_cart.php template.

Same page, I would like to remove the arrows of the main button (“Enter Guest Information >>”), couldn’t find this button anywhere on the server….

Could you let me know where the files containing these codes are located? I’m a total beginner with coding…

Thanks!

Hi, we can help you with both of those edits.

Here is the translation line from the cart.php file:

If you are using a plugin to assist with the translation, then copy and paste the entry above into the plugin. Specifically, you’ll enter this (it is the full text include spacing):

You can register a maximum of %d attendees for this event.

Then you can enter some text that it should be replaced with like this:

You can register a maximum of %d guests for this event.

The edit for the arrows requires an edit to one of the template files.

Go to /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/shopping_cart.php

Then download that file to your computer.

Then browse to this location:

/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates

Then upload the shopping_cart.php file for editing.

Towards the end of the file, you’ll see the coding that handles the button:

Remove the » (http://cl.ly/image/1Q0D1S1s433O) and save changes.

Oh brilliant! Thank you Lorenzo. Another one – I also want to modify the button “confirm and go to checkout page”, I guess this is located in the multi registration display template right? I also want to remove the arrow.

Hi,

Do you mean the “Confirm and go to payment page” string?

If so then that is actually located in the core plugin: /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/cart.php

If you are using a plugin or script to change the wording, the string to change is “Confirm and go to payment page” (without quotes).

Thanks Dean, it works.
