My client teaches classes in two locations, Greer and West Columbia. He has moved all future Greer classes to Greenville, which is close by. For filtering purposes, I also created a venue category called Greer. Which is better, to edit the Greer location and category to read Greenville? Or should I add a new venue and new category for Greenville? I have already scheduled the classes for the rest of the year, so changing from Greer to Greenville seems like it would be easier, but I don’t want to unintentially mess things up!
It would be easier to change the existing Greer category & venue to be Greenville (and change all of the venue info for that venue post). One concern may be the older Greer classes will now show they were held at Greenville.
When I try to change the category slug I get a message that it was changed successfully, however the slug changes back to /greer/ and the /greenville/ page gets a 404.
I see, you’re trying to edit a venue category, not an event category. In this case it will be better to create a new venue category for Greenville, then assign the Greenville venues to the new venue category and unassign the Greenville venues from the Greer venue category.
