Hi,
This is in reference to the event detail page for an event. I know this uses the Post template. My Post template looks too much like a blog. I’d like to use a page template. I saw in a prior post that you can use this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-page-template/

From post: https://eventespresso.com/topic/events-details-page-use-blog-post-template-how-change-to-default-page-template/

I did that and checked off the espresso_events custom post type. My question is where do I go to change the template now since there is no actual post/page for the event detail (or is there an I am missing it)?

Or if there is a better way to do this now then happy to do that if you could provide the information please.

Thank you

Tony

Hi there,

You now don’t need that plugin as EE allows you to select the template by default – http://take.ms/C7bb2

My question is where do I go to change the template now since there is no actual post/page for the event detail (or is there an I am missing it)?

You edit the event itself in Event Espresso -> Events -> {event}

Then set the template the event should use.

However doing this would mean you need to select that template for each event you create, so what you can do is create a template specifically for EE events by default.

Are you using a child theme and are you comfortable editing WP page templates?
