Hello,

I would like to change the order of the event listing. At the moment you can see at that the button is right below the titles of the events. I would like to have the button centered below the excerpt. How can I achieve that? I tried using Firebug, but I wasn’t able to find it.

I also would like to change the title font color into white, but because they are links, I wasn’t able to do that unfortunately.

Thanks a lot for helping ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Coen,

Are you just wanting to swap the order of the event elements and adjust the font or do you plan on other changes?

Also, are you comfortable using an SFTP or FTP client such as Filezilla or Cyberduck?

If those are the only changes, then a filter along with a line of CSS can help.

Hi Lorenzo,

I can work with Filezilla, that shouldnt be a problem. One more question. I would also like to have the button on the single event page to be centered and below the event location.

Thanks a lot,

Coen

Hi Coen, could you setup the starter templates by following this tutorial?

https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/16aac08f099d7c154f04

Then open up the content-espresso_events.php file which looks like this:

http://cl.ly/image/2h0i22330O2y

There are two sections in the screenshot above. The is_single is for the single event page and the is_archive is for the event listing page.

You can change the order of the elements that are shown and then save changes.

Let us know if you are able to get that setup and we’ll take a look at your last question.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for helping. However I have a problem. I have added all the .php files to my child theme, but I can’t locate a page.php file. I use a child theme on the Genesis framework which normally don’t use page.php. Do you have a solution? Also, I think step 4 of the starter templates don’t relate to my question right?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Coen, thanks for clarifying. Genesis works a little differently.

Could you try adding this to your child theme’s functions.php file?

https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/a33405557a2a065779ea

That should adjust the order of the event elements.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for responding! I’ve added the code to functions.php from my child theme, however I get a white screen of death ๐Ÿ™ Can you review if I added the code correctly? Here is the link: http://pastebin.com/Yb48V0HL.

I left the added starter theme php files from the other solution in my theme folder, is that correct of can I delete them when I use the new solution?

One last question regarding the new solution, thats focussed on the single event page, however I would also like to change the event archive button placement.

Thanks for helping Lorenzo, much appreciated!

,Coen

Hi Coen, since you are wanting to just change the order, then the starter templates would no longer be needed.

You can remove those for now. Your code looks okay from my end. Could you provide a zipped copy of your theme to the email address below:

Also, include a link to this support post.

Thanks again!
