MySQL Version:

Event Espresso Version:

Thanks!

Hi Anja, I’ve made some updates to the documentation found here on how to download the EE language files from our github account, and where to place them on your site. If you would like to help out in filling out the German translation, please see the page here.

Thank you! But unfortunately I can’t change the permissions at the FTP to 777, it doesn’t acceppt a change of permission…so, I can’t create a new folder “languages”. ???

Hi Anja,

Can you manually create a new folder at that location? If you cannot, your host may be able to help.

I found the solution! language file is preinstalled in the “event-espress-core-reg”-file, so, integrating the gethub-file there was possible (permission allowed). The “Espresso”-File the “uploads”-File can’t be changed…everything works fine! perhaps this should be updated in documentation for EE language files…

We actually just pushed out an update (4.1.4) that deals with this issue. Before, it was downloading the language file from github to plugins/ee4/languages and ignoring the one in uploads/espresso/languages. The update fixes it so that it will load the one in uploads/espresso/languages and if it doesn’t find it there, uses the one in plugins/ee4/languages. It may still download the version from github and store it in plugins/ee4/languages, but it will not be the first place it checks for which one to actually use.
