Hi! I’ve gone round and round trying to find the answer to this question, please can you help? Admin notifications are going to the address that my Event Espresso registration is in. How can I change that, or have notifications go to another or more than one email address please? I’ve changed all the places in the EE settings that reference an admin email and changed the wordpres email, but still nothing. I installed an email log yesterday, so I can see the notification going to the subscription email address (which was also the original WordPress email) but I have no earthly idea how to change this.

Hi there,

By default, the shortcode used by Event Espresso for the Event Admin emails is [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL].

That shortcode pulls the email address of the user account set as the author of the event but you can change the template to use whatever you prefer.

Which email are you currently looking into? Registration Approved?

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

Find the Registration Approved message template and click on the ‘Edit Event Admin’ link for that template.

Is [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] set in the ‘To’ field?

Change that to [CO_EMAIL] to use the address set in Event Espresso -> General Settings.

You asked about sending the email to multiple emails and whilst it is possible to add multiple addresses in the above section separated by a comma it can cause issues with some mail servers.

What we recommend you do instead of the above, is set up a group within your email provider and then assign all of the address your want to send the email to into that group. So you may have an admins@example.com group with multiple addresses assigned to it, EE sends the email to admins@example.com and then your mail provider handles the rest.

Which provider do you use for emails?

Thank you, I’ve now found that area. A question. The url of the event is wantfaconferences.com.au but it’s only really the website on that url. The url of the organisation organising the events is wantfa.com.au and the emails of the people working on the conference are eg. registration@wantfa.com.au. Should notifications be going to emails on the same url to avoid deliverability issues or is it okay for the eg. site admin and event admins to be name@wantfa.com.au?

Email is finicky but for this, it mainly depends on how you are sending the emails.

If your site is just set up to send the emails using your host’s mail server then you may run into deliverability issues, if you are using an SMTP plugin such as WP Mail SMTP to send your email through your mail provider it’ll be ‘better’ but you’ll need to make sure you use the wantfa.com.au domain for emails.
