How do I configure EE/Stripe to send an email receipt to the card holder, not the registrant?

Hi there,

Can you let me know which email you are referring to, please?

Is it the Stripe receipt sent from Stripe themselves, the ‘Payment Received’ email sent by EE from your site, or the registration emails sent by EE from your site?

Preferably the stripe email itself, or the payment received email would suffice. Basically what I need is the registrants to receive an email confirmation of their registration information and a separate email to the card holder with the payment details.

I can’t find a way in the stripe dashboard to configure this so I’m assuming it will have to come from EE…

A separate email with payment information, sent to the card holder email address, can be set up by following these steps:

1) You go to Event Espresso > Registration Form > Questions > Add new question and add a new question. The Question can be named something like “Cardholder email address”. You’ll set the question type to “Email” and set the question to be required and save the question.
2) You go to the Question groups tab and add a new question group. You’ll check the box next to the “Cardholder email address” question to add the question to the group, then save.
3) You go to Event Espresso > Messages > Default Message templates and look for the “Payment Received” message type. On that row you’ll click on “Primary Registrant” and that will take you to an editor page. There you’ll edit the To: field so it matches the following:
[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_ANSWER_* Cardholder email address]
Note that the text after the * must match your question text.
4) Go to edit your events, scroll to the “Questions for Primary Registrant” box and check the box next to your new question group.

Once that’s done there will be a new field on the registration form (but only within the first registration’s form if there are multiple registrations within a transaction). Then new field will be used to capture the email address for sending the payment received email.

Ok, I did that and it was not approved as a work around. Specifically because the invoice needs to go to the cardholder if it’s paid, the primary registrant if it’s not paid immediately. If I can’t pass this information in to Stripe, is there another plugin that I can pass that information through?

Both email contexts can include the link to download an invoice. I’m not aware of another plugin that you can pass the information through.
