Can't update to latest version.

I get the following message. Have searched forums and they seem to indicate that the key needs resetting?

“You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.”

Help.

Hello Ray,

I’ve just reset your Support License Key. In a few moments, you’ll receive a confirmation to your email address on your Event Espresso account.

If you are using Event Espresso 4, please login to your WordPress admin and locate Event Espresso in the admin menu. Then click on General Settings. Copy the existing key which appears at the top of the page. Then erase the existing key and click on Save on the right side of the screen. After the page refreshes, please paste your key and click on Save once more.

These steps will refresh your Support License Key for Event Espresso.

Thanks Lorenzo. That works. But why does the software go wrong in the first place?
