I’m in the US with an all-US clientele. In general settings, I’ve set the Country to be USA only. However I’m trying to add a new venue and the only option presented for Country is Canada and Canadian States. I can’t type in those boxes and can’t find a pref to change it.
I like Canada but I can’t hold events there – How do I fix the new venue selection to point to USA?

Hi Michael,
If you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Counties (Tab)
You can then select which countries appear within the dropdowns.
Select Canada within the ‘Select Country’ dropdown and you can then select if it should be displayed within the downdowns you mentioned – http://take.ms/DigbJ
If the Country is set not to appear, that countries states will also not appear.
You can also add/remove countries/states within that same page.

Yes, that did it. Somehow I missed setting US and Canada was apparently set by default(???). Fixed those and all is well now. Thanks!
That all seemed ‘awkward’ to me, especially the part where I have to turn 50+ US States on or off one at a time – my guess is many users only need one or a few. But I only have to do it once, I suppose.

US and Canada should be enabled by default (along with the relevant states)
I’m not sure why US was not enabled on your install, that’s not something I’ve seen previously. Is this a new install, a migration (from EE3 to 4) or and upgrade (from EE4.2.x to 4.3.x)?
With the default settings we try to accommodate as many users as possible, so we enable all states and allow the user to disable any they do not wish to use.

This is a new installation & setting up my first event – possible I inadvertently un-clicked US while I was un-clicking all the states, but I don’t remember doing that. Was not obvious to me that I needed to open Canada to turn that off…
But I guess I only have to go thru this once – call it closed. Thanks!
