Dear All, I created an event and when I try to edit it, I can’t see the save button or all the event details. http://www.4shared.com/photo/HL7wlCH0ce/EDIT_EVENT.html Any ideas |
|
Hi, Can you try deactivating all other plugins (temporarily) except EE and try again? It looks like a possible conflict between EE and another plugin. If it works after de-activating, please re-activate each plugin one by one, testing the event editor each time. This should help find the conflicting plugin and we can then figure something out from there. |
|
Thank you Dean for your response. I have disabled all the other plugins except EE and still can’t see the other options. I can only see till event time zone. I’m planning an event for an earlybird payment then the payment should rise and I guess I need to do this by editing the event details. Regards |
|
Hi, Regarding the early bird, yes you need to edit event options to enable it. One more thing to try before we have to look at this closer. Can swap to a default theme (e.g. twentytwelve)? The Theme Test Drive plugin is very useful here as it can change the theme but only to logged in users, so your visitors won’t see any changes. If that still doesn’t change anything we will likely need login details and permission to add some plugins temporarily. |
|
Hi Dean, I tried activating different default themes but no luck. The theme I’m using assures it’s compatible with EE. I’m using Tyler Conference Theme Thanks |
Hi Ismail, The Tyler theme is compatible with Event Espresso 4: http://www.eventmanagerblog.com/tyler-theme-guide#11.3 Your screenshot appears to be for Event Espresso 3. Are you able to migrate to Event Espresso 4. — |

Hi Dean and Lorenzo, I have tried all the suggestions you made. The plugins seem to be working fine. Yes, I already use EE3 since I need the ticketing and multi-registration plugins which are only available for EE4. Could you please advise if there is any technical/ requirements glitches in EE3? If not why is not showing the full event details in the “Event Overview” page including the saving button? I can give you access to my account through email if you would like to check from my end. Thanks |

Hi, “Could you please advise if there is any technical/ requirements glitches in EE3?” Nothing that would cause this (we can never rule bugs out as bugs are a part of life), as we still test and use EE3 on a daily basis, as do many of our customers. I am fairly certain that this is a conflict, which is strange considering you have confirmed that the issue persists with no other plugins active and with a default theme. Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this? If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ NOTE: login details need to be Admin level and FTP details are appreciated. Please can you provide permission so that I can deactivate plugins, swap the theme and temporarily install plugins? Without permission I will simply just look at the site without making any changes. |
|
Thanks for the login details. OK, so my tests didn’t reveal anything. Can you please enable WP Debug and let’s see if there are any errors popping up – http://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG (I can’t enable this as there was no FTP details). |
|
Hi Dean, I have enabled the debugging and it showed three comments. I am also sending you the FTP details required. I hope that helps. Many thanks |
Hi, the theme that you are currently running was written for Event Espresso 4. It isn’t compatible with Event Espresso 3 at this time: http://www.eventmanagerblog.com/tyler-theme-guide#11.3 Does this issue continue if you switch to another WP theme? — |

Hi Lorenzo, I tried the standard themes 2013 and 2014 but the event editing is still not showing correctly. Could that be an integration issue with the WordPress version it self? I use WordPress 4.0.1. |
Thanks for letting us know. I’ll take another look. — |

Thank you in advance, Lorenzo. Just FYI, the “registration” page shows this debugging message: Notice: wpdb::prepare was called incorrectly. The query argument of wpdb::prepare() must have a placeholder. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.9.) in /home/qatar894/public_html/conference/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3370 Strict Standards: Only variables should be passed by reference in /home/mydirectory/public_html/conference/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/event_list.php on line 300 |
Hi there Ismail, You’ll receive a message to your email account shortly. Please reply directly to that email so we can continue to work towards a solution. Thanks again — |

Hi Lorenzo, I have been waiting for your response. I had to manually remove and install the new EE4 instead of EE3 because of the issue mentioned. I have entered the license key but I am getting this message so I can’t activate the auto update of the plugin. Could you help? “A new version of Event Espresso is available. View What’s New with version 4.4.6.p. A valid Support License Key is needed to enable automatic upgrades. Your current account does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.” Thanks |
Hi, your support license key was released and you’ll receive a confirmation email with information on how to reactivate it. — |
