Hi there! I only have the invoice option for payment but I’m getting a “This registration step could not be completed. Please refresh the page and try again.” during the registration process. How do I solve this? |
There are a few possible causes to this issue. You can rule these out one by one: |

So when the front end registration process isn’t working, that’s probably because there’s a script error-ing out that’s only affecting the front end of the site. Which would be the case when the registration process works on the back-end of the site. The way forward is identify the root cause of the breakage, and the first step is rule out any errant scripts from the theme or other plugins. |

It’s the theme. Is there any way to fix this besides changing theme? We bought that theme specifically for this website! |

I changed themes from Themeco’s X to twenty fifteen and back and now the registration process is working… Thanks for your help. |
That might be a JavaScript error in the console that’s from the X theme. Is there a dev site where you can activate the X theme, where we can take a look at the registration page for an error? |

Sadly no. But the site is pretty much brand new. If you want to check something, you might as well do it in the live site. |

The above would not normally fix anything, but you may have had a bad cookie stuck in the browser at one point. |
