Hi I had the free version of Event Expresso installed then I upgraded to the full version. The issue I have now is that I can’t use the drop downs to add the payment details i.e. PayPal account details to sell tickets for an up coming event. I deleted the free version, deleted and reinstalled the full version and still I can’t toggle the arrow down to add the payment options. I need to get this complete as the event is but three weeks away. Any pointers will be most warmly received.

Event Espresso is 3.1.30.7.P
Wordpress 3.5.1

Hi there,

Are there any JavaScript errors on the Payment options page?

For a couple of sites I work with, my WP admin JavaScript is all messed up from when WP combines all its JavaScript.

So I added this to the wp-config.php file and it resolved the issue:

define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);

Hi thanks for the reply, I can see the Payment Setting page with the header of Manage Payment Gateways with no errors but when I go to toggle the grey arrow, nothing appears or expands to add the relevant information to input the details. Do I need to install all the other Event Expresso plug-ins too? Not sure what else to try.

Just as a quick note, I have just installed the plugin on another site of mine and the Payment Gateway allows me to input the payment details in a drop down. Is there a way to completely do a clean install of Event Expresso? the other deactivate and re-install clearly left some debris behind

There are database tables that you could remove, they all have “events” in the name. That would remove the prior installations Event Espresso specific tables. You don’t need to install any of the add-ons for the payment options to appear.

If you’re not seeing any JavaScript errors on the payment options page, you could try turning on wp-debug, there might be an option set in the wp_options table that isn’t set right. I’m thinking that you’ll see an error message when you hit the payment option screen that will help us find what’s wrong with debugging turned on.

Could you guide me as to how to flush the database tables and is this safe to do so in the light of other plugins that may be installed?

I don’t recommend flushing database tables and I don’t think it will solve the problem you are having. Have you tried turning on wp-debug?

I am going to have to Google wp-debug procedure as I am not that conversant in the back end of databases, I am a designer. If you could point me to some forums or FAQ that would be great.

Hi,

It isn’t a database command, it can be turned on/off via the wp-config.php file – http://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG

Hi thanks for all your help, I ended up deleting the whole Database and completely reinstalling WordPress from scratch and rebuilding the site. Now working tickety-boo.

Glad you got it sorted, sorry you had to go to those lengths though.
